How to play PerudoOBJECT
The object of the game Perudo is to be the last remaining player with one or more dice left.
ROUNDS
The game of Perudo is always played in rounds with players starting with a cup with five dice. To begin each round each player shakes their cup to mix the dice and them rolls them on to the table - using their cups to shield the dice so that they and no other players can see them. In each and every round the players take turns to bid until one player says "Dudo" (which means "I doubt" in Spanish), which is to let the other players know that they disagree with the previous bid. Players can only roll their dice once in each round of Perudo.
FIRST BID
The initial player begins by announcing their bid which is based on any number that could be counted if all players lifted their cups to reveal their dice. The players do not know what numbers are under the cups and only know what their dice represent. Perudo Players may also bluff, as they do not need to a particular number to bid it. For example: a player does not need to have any twos to bid "3 twos"
FOLLOWING BIDS
When the first Player has finished bidding, the player on their left (Player 2) has two options: (a) increase the bid, or (b) declare "Dudo." Every player must bid or say "Dudo" when it is their turn passing is not allowed.
INCREASING THE BID
When increasing the bid Player 2 can either: 1) increase the quantity by bidding a higher quantity of the same number bid by the previous player, or 2) increase the number by bidding a higher number than that bid by the previous player, or 3) increase both (quantity and number) After Player 2 has bid, play continues to the left with player in turn increasing the bid or until Dudo is called.
CALLING "DUDO"
When a player believes that the player on their right has just made an incorrect bid by incorrectly estimating the quantity of the number, they may say Dudo instead of bidding.
COUNTING THE DICE
When a player says "Dudo," they lift their dice cup and announce the quantity of the number just bid which is under their cup. Moving round to the left each player then in turn lifts their cup counting the quantity of the number bid adding it all together to make a running total After all other players have lifted their cups and counted, the player who was doubted and made the last bid, lifts their cup and adds the quantity of their number bid to announce the final total
SCORING
If this final total is either equal to or greater than the last bid then the player who declared Dudo takes one of their dice and puts it on the discard pile which means they continue to play with one less die. If the final total is less than the last bid then the player who made the bid places their die in the discard pile. A round is over when a player has lost a die. In each round only one player can lose a die. To begin the next round all the players put their remaining dice back in the cups, and start again. The player who lost a die during the previous round bids first. A player who has lost all of their dice is out of the game, and the player to their left bids first on the next round.
